Wade In The Water, Child

I don’t take credit for these photos, nor the collage, but I had to share this. The only difference in these two photos are time and place. Going out of your way to say you’re in support of an officer that killed a young, unarmed, black KID tells us all that you are an ignorant, insensitive, fascist.
Last night a Pro Officer Wilson protester (white female) showed up on W Florissant (scene of mike brown demonstrations). How fucking ignorant can you be? This is a place to mourn the loss and raise our voices for justice.

And let’s say a Mike is guilty of charging officer Wilson (which I’m calling complete bullshit on) it still gives you no right to go out and say you’re in support of a man who killed someone. Death should never celebrated. Especially while people morn.

Dream House : Deafheaven

"Hindered by sober restlessness.
Submitting to the amber crutch.
The theme in my aching prose.
Fantasizing the sight of Manhattan;
That pour of a bitter red being that escapes a thin frame.
The rebirth of mutual love.
The slipping on gloves to lay tenderly.

"I’m dying."
"Is it blissful?"
"It’s like a dream."
"I want to dream.""

Police escalate the violence. Unrest in Ferguson, Part 2

[part 1]

and police CONTINUE to violate civil rights.

the minute a cop threatens ANYONE (press or otherwise) with “I will blow your brains out” they should be stripped of the weapon and their job and prevented from working any sort of security or position of authority ever again.
got a power trip problem? get the hell out of law enforcement.

I’ve gone up to Ferguson for the 3rd time now, and each night was a completely different experience. I honestly don’t even know how to explain tonight though. It was calm, nothing but peaceful protest, but the police were on edge, making everyone else on edge. In these photos you can see my girlfriend Kara and my friend Sarah getting interviewed by a news station that was here from Norway. Also, I was 10 feet away from Anderson Cooper from CNN. And you can see an camera operator letting some little children look through the camera at their mom.

Didn’t get very many photos tonight because so much was going on. But the peaceful protest in Ferguson was amazing tonight. So many people coming together for one reason, and the police weren’t there to bully us.

I Went Into the Belly of the Beast

After I left work tonight, I attended a gathering at the Gateway Arch about the situation in Ferguson. It was short, and I couldn’t hear anything being said, but I did hear it said at the end, “If you really care about what’s happening, go to Ferguson yourself.”

So I did.

I spent about 3 hours…

Went back to Ferguson tonight to show support in the figure for justice for Mike Brown. My friend drew was with me and his words, above, wrap up exactly what I felt and saw tonight. It was a very surreal time and I’ll never forget it
